An access log is a detailed list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a certain site. Any file which was requested in some way shall be listed, so if you have one webpage with three embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log shall contain a total of 6 entries - one for any of the six files that were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log usually contains the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s Operating System, web browser and IP address. Occasionally you can also find the referrer websites that sent the visitors to your website. The information an access log file contains is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to prepare reports on the overall performance of a website, besides the web stats that your hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Website Hosting

Enabling the generation of access logs will be exceptionally easy when you acquire a website hosting from our company. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all the accounts, has a section on different logs which is where you'll find the access logs too. When you navigate there, you will see a list of all the domains hosted inside the account and the subdomains created for them. Our custom made cloud hosting platform shall start creating an access log for each of them the instant you click on the On button, which you will see on the right. If you don't need logs, disabling the option is just as quick and can be done by clicking on the Off button inside the exact same section. All the logs are downloadable, therefore you can effortlessly save and manage them on your desktop PC or laptop.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you host your sites inside a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you'll have the option to enable or deactivate the generation of access logs with no more than several mouse clicks inside your Hepsia hosting CP. You'll find this feature within the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access once you sign in. All it takes for our system to start creating logs is one click on the On button you'll see there. The feature can be triggered independently for any Internet site no matter if it uses a domain or a subdomain and you'll find a full list of all the hosts inside that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with only a click and you may then view it manually or use some software on your personal computer. The log generation may be deactivated by simply switching the On option to Off in the Logs section of your Control Panel.
